In my visual journal, I've begun writing notes about the world of my graphic novel. I know that I want to create some witchy characters, so I need to build the rules of that world and how magic exists within it.
The main character I have created will be called Selene Jett (I purposefully researched names that meant darkness/night etc). It really helped to sketch out how I envision her initially, but I have furthered this visual exploration with a mood board:
I've also decided that there will be two other characters (best friends of the main characters) called Willa and Calliope. I've created a mood board for each, so that I can begin exploring their personalities.
These will be great reference points for my drawings, and it will be interesting to see how the characters develop as the project continues.
