Format development?

 

I had initially intended to write a novel and then create a set of illustrations (between 5 and 8 per chapter of the key moments), but I found that I wanted to illustrate more of the scenes. I think my initial proposal was as such because I felt too daunted by the idea of creating a long format comic. However, I spent some time finding areas of the text to illustrate, and creating some panels/illustrations. This is probably going to be significantly more work, so I may have to adjust my expectations of the outcome of the project, but I found it really enjoyable to create the following images.

I need to do some fine tuning, especially when it comes to the typography and the page layouts. I'm toying with the idea of having a written version of the novel (probably just for my own enjoyment and potentially as a bonus reward for patreon users?) as well as a comic version. I find that writing in the novel format really helps me to understand the scenes before I feel able to draw them.
