I thought these bookmarks and postcards were really great examples of a dissemination technique I hadn't considered yet. These would be good to hand out as freebies, take to bookstores or hand out at markets/convention events.
I really like the Heartstopper postcards with the character profiles on the back. It offers readers the opportunity to learn a little bit more about the characters, collect the set or just their favourite one.
The visual identity of each of these is specific to the author or branding of the books. Once I have begun to complete some of my book illustrations, I can use those to form a cohesive identity.
Similarly to the above - which are more like freebies, I found some examples of book merchandise I'd like to explore. "The Bookish Box" is a book subscription box that releases limited edition covers and various merchandise for popular book series.
I really like the high detail/finely crafted editions of the hardcover dust jackets. I think they are a great way of refreshing a book series. As they hire new artists to work on each one, it's also a good way to become associated with an existing book series (or brand). These could be released in short runs on various platforms like Etsy or Patreon.
