Dissemination methods: Patreon research

I'd really like to use Patreon as a platform to; a) explore another income stream and, b) have a space where I can post updates about my ongoing project and not really worry about putting work into the world for free. I think it's important to have a "business mindset" when it comes to sharing my work, as there isn't anybody else who can do my practice like I do, so it has value.

I plan to start a Patreon page as soon as possible, so I thought I'd have a look at some examples of artists I admire (and am fortunate enough to be acquainted with in some cases), to see how they have used their Patreon pages.

Pypah Santos

Uses their Patreon to post monthly exclusive content - mainly process videos and physical products in the highest tier.

Their tiers are really clearly described and I think fairly priced for what they are offering. I think the graphics / branding used are all very cute and match their practice very well.

Imawonder / Tina

Again, I really like the presentation of Tina's Patreon page. I think that it reflect their work really well but doesn't feel overtly "branded". I think this will be one of my challenges when preparing my own branding, as I want to let my work speak for itself.

In addition to posting regularly about my art practice, I could use the platform to gain interest / momentum for my illustrated novel.  For example, the below list are a few ideas that I could incorporate into monthly releases.

I like the idea of posting sneak peaks, such as an illustration from a chapter and a short extract of the manuscript.

I need to decide what rewards I want to offer in each "tier" and finalise the branding I want to represent my work.
