Contextual Reference: Skip

Mendoza, M. (2019) Skip. London: Nobrow.

I snapped these pictures because I really liked how throughout the book, the colour palettes were relatively simple but often changed. They changed to depict a different world/dream and used varying tones to help with the composition. The different colours contribute to the overall mood in the panels and help the reader gauge what is "real". I particularly liked the pages where the panels became more abstract and the illustrations weren't constrained by the boxes. Playing with the composition is something I will be exploring in my novel.
