Botanicals in witchcraft

Following my previous bad sketchbook pages, I continued to explore herbs/botanicals commonly used in witchcraft (and what they do). I used a biro and a few copic markers, not tools that I would typically reach for. I opted to draw these freehand (without sketching underneath) and I quite like how rough this made some of them look. I can see all the mistakes I made or areas where I didn't have quite enough control of the biro to do some of the shading, but as a whole, I really like how they came out.

With a bit more refinement and some more information, I could see these progressing to be an illustrated guide/zine... Maybe as part of an "introduction to witchcraft" series? I expect there are other pieces of work like this, but this could be a good way for me to explore parts of my novel.

I opted to draw these in a "foldy zine" format, because I found my sketchbook felt a little restrictive. Possibly due to frustrations of having to stare at "bad" pages of work - but the foldy zine format stopped me from being so precious about my process and I felt I enjoyed it far more.
