Portfolio / Website

To try and bring together my work and form some sort of cohesive branding, I have decided to revive my website. Luckily I have had the domain for years, but haven't used it in a while.

I wanted to try building a website on a few different platforms before I committed to any.

First off I have tried GoDaddy. It's simple to use but extremely slow. Also the layout options aren't really what I wanted. However, I like how my branding is starting to look.

For my logo I have decided to stick to this for now:

I like how sketchy it is - and I think it reflects how my drawing approach has loosened up recently as I try out different techniques. I also chose to keep the pink colour that I have been using on recent presentation slides, for consistency and because I'm drawn to that colour. I am going to create a version of it in a circular stamp as I like that format for some applications. This square mark is useful for watermarking in the corner of artwork that I post on social media etc.

I feel that my work is quite bold so I've kept the branding really minimal.

I also tried out Wix for the site design and got on much better with it. I wanted a really simple layout to display portfolio pieces instantly. Now I just need to add some more variety into the selection of work.
