Creating a dummy book

I wanted to make a dummy book because I thought it would be useful to present my manuscript alongside the plans for the illustrations. At this point, I haven't refined the illustrations at all - they are just initial sketches as placeholders as I need more time to refine these ideas. I just reviewed the manuscript and selected small sections that I thought were key to depict the narrative.

Although this was quite a fiddly process and took quite a long time due to the length of the script, it was really beneficial to see the text laid out on a page. When I revisit the script to format it properly, it might move around slightly, but I've chosen the illustrations in a way that they'll still be relevant on the pages.

As a finishing touch, I mocked up a rough cover too. I repurposed one of the illustrations I did earlier for a character board and used a simple typeface. I can revisit this design at a later date once I have explored more of the visual identity of the book.
